If I can make it here...

Opening Day at Yankee Stadium!
...I can make it anywhere :)
In case you don’t follow me on twitter (and if you don’t, you should! #ShamelessPlug) in February I left D.C. (which was really tough!) for an amazing opportunity with Verizon FiOS 1 as their sole sports anchor.
I’m now covering all NYC pro, college and local sports – As the talent, producer and writer on my sports casts...my new role is definitely a challenge, but I was more than ready for it!
Catch me at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Mon-Fri behind the desk or in the field!
Not sure where my career will take me… but anything is possible in the city that never sleeps….

Behind the scenes in the Bayou for Super Bowl XLVII
It's become standard to do a 'Behind the Scenes' piece in order capture the essence of the city hosting the Super Bowl. Summing up the flavor of a post-Katrina New Orleans is a no small task.

Cool scenes from a 'monumental' weekend in the D.C./Baltimore area ;D

After a rematch of last year's AFC championship ended with the Ravens heading to the Super Bowl this time around, 'Charm City' got just a little rowdy ;D The amazing picture on the right was taken from the rooftop of a well-known sports bar, Mother's Grill, in Federal Hill.
Meanwhile, D.C. had it's own little celebration...

I will keep this short, because we all have suffered from a lack of productivity since the Manti Te'o / Lennay Kekua story broke on Wednesday. It's Saturday and I am still reading every single article possible about this case. (Part of recovery is admitting there is a problem ;D). I can't believe how much coverage this story is getting and how widespread it is...but then again I have lost at least 4 hours of my life to it, thanks Ronaiah Tuiasosopo.
The only 'winner' here is Lance Armstrong, or perhaps Nev Schulman? Either way, this 'catfish' case has caused us all to ask what is journalism? Every journalist can point to a moment in an interview, where they tilted their head ever so slightly in confusion and wanted to ask that follow up question...but didn't. I've done it, I've learned from it and I continue to learn from it. In this constant quest for the dissemination of information, is a journalists job ever truly done? Here's a solid article from Poynter, Sports journalism faces a moment of truth this week, now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to re-watch the Jeremy Schaap's recount of Manti Te'o proclaiming his innocence. Which is another blog post all together...

WELCOME TO MY NEW WEBSITE!
I loved (loved!!!) my old site, but with a new chapter in Washington, D.C. it was time for a change! Plus, I created this site by myself using a weebly template. If you want to get in touch with the designer or the photographer that helped me with my old site, just let me know!
As multi-media reporter with NBC Sports covering the Washington Redskins for the past two seasons, or a 'renaissance woman of the digital era' as I prefer to be called, I serve as the talent, writer and the producer on all of my segments. Even the casual NFL fan knows it's been a wild ride in our nation's capital from the 'Donovan McNabb/Albert Haynesworth situation' to the 'John Beck/Rex Grossman experiment' to a magical comeback season that will ultimately be tainted by one decision... I'm going to be trying update this blog more frequently, so check back in! I pride myself on being the unconventional so if you have an idea or see something cool reach out (or tweet at me! @JenXperienceCSN) ...I'm always looking for #Inspiration! ;D |
